What if it was half way across to wherever it was swimming? I bet it chewed on some ruminant swearwords when it was put back at the shore and had to start all over again. ---

I recall the time I almost landed one off Egmont Key-- must have been 12 or 14 points, easy. Seriously, the antlers were yea wide. I must have fought that sucker for a good 45 minutes. Drat the luck, he managed to wrap the line around the motor and got away. Of course they don’t grow that big out there anymore. ---

Deer frequently swim from shore to Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay. Looks like some bridge pylons in one of those pictures. Now [this](http://www.flickr.com/photos/22502911@N02/2178502800/) is impressive. ---
