Way back in the day when I saw The Salzburg Connection the projectionist swapped two reels, three and four I think. Since the end of reel two and the beginning of reel four were major scene changes it wasn’t immediately apparent, but the story was making less and less sense – even for Helen MacInnes. Finally, the hero is complaining about how his apartment had been tossed and I was wondering what in hell he was talking about. Twenty minutes later, we see the bad guys break into his apartment and turn the place upside down and the lightbulb went off in my head.
