Strange "hobbies" of well known people.

Bill Frist at one point obtained a cat and dissected it to further his understanding of anatomy, apparently outside the shelter of a classroom or school. In other words, true independent study. Apparently, this squicks people out, but given that he eventually became a transplant surgeon I think it was mostly a manifestation of early fascination with anatomy. Anyhow, do people think surgeons learn their techniques out of a book?

No, David’s been doing that for years. I imagine he wears those socks on Bones because he never could on Angel–though the thought of Angel wearing goofy socks makes my day.

He’s also afraid of chickens, though that’s not a hobby. That’s just weird.

James Marsters plays guitar (solo now, though he once had a band). If you ever heard the man live, you’d think it was pretty damned strange.

During WWII he was quite the poker hustler.

No question about it. He brought a nice little chunk of money from military poker games into civilian life.
