Well, if there are such things as ghosts, then I am touched that one wanted to comfort your wife like that. My sympathies to her for her recent losses and her Dad’s current suffering. ---

Maybe you could add to your sig: “Does not hear ghosts. Well, just that one time.” 😃 I believe you heard what you heard. I don’t know if it was other-worldly or what it was; I doubt you’ll ever know for sure, either. Just another thing to think on; I know that I have a tendency to see and hear weird things while I’m falling asleep; something to do with my body being paralyzed by sleep before my mind or vice versa or something like that. My husband and I both have been known to make very weird sounds as we’re falling asleep, but certainly not full, clear phrases. I’m willing to chalk this one up to “Definitely weird; may have rational cause, but cause is not known.” ---

Is it possible you have a dog? If so, he probably overheard the conversation and was just trying to screw with you by throwing his voice. Buddy the Beagle does that to us all the time. “Get out. GET OUT!!!” “Oh, Buddy, you’re so funny.” ---

Great sig line! I had a cat who was meowing at the bottom of my closed bedroom door once, and he got the acoustics just right so it sounded like a cow mooing or some equally weird sound to come out of a little kitty. My husband and I both heard it, and we still giggle over it to this day. ---

i believe you. i rememeber one night, feeling sick and being totaly disgusted with my husband, when my granny showed up. i had been lying on the couch, but then my head was in her lap and she was stroking my hair, and a feeling of “it’s going to be alright.”. i could even smell her. she had been dead for 5 years or so. she was right, i am now happily divorced. now i live in a different house, and for a while i frequently heard voices yelling things like “beebee, you bitch.” and other various names. i thought God was ticked at me for a while. luckily i found out the new neighbors name was beebee, and it wasn’t God all mad at me. just her boyfriend fixing to beat her up again. ---

Do you have a fan in your bedroom, **Winston**? The other night I would have sworn _on my life_ that someone in an adjacent apartment was playing country music, but it was just my fan. And I, too, have experienced the sensation of someone getting on the bed. Last time it was just a couple weeks ago. I was at home during a school day, taking a nap, and I dreamed that my youngest child came home and opened my bedroom door. I asked him how he got there and he said “I walked here from school.” I started to freak out, because he’s only 7, but then I woke up. Or I thought I did. A few seconds later, I felt him crawl up onto my bed. Then I really started to freak out. But then I thought, “The door’s locked, and he doesn’t have a key. He couldn’t be in here.” That feeling of him getting up on the bed was so real, though! ---

I don’t have the search function so I can’t look but wasn’t there a thread a while ago about someone hearing a voice clear as bell when the were walking home through a brand new subdivision. If I remeber correctly there were no homes built yet and no street lights. There were 2 people walking and they both heard it clear as day right next to them yet they were all alone. Does this ring a bell to anyone else? Creepy non the less. G. ---
