I know reporters are scrambling around as fast they can trying to get all the information they can learn into a report. And of course the faster they try to deliver, the more mistakes they make.

> The 7th Cavalry, as you see it, rolling across the desert is now here looking for pockets of the Iraqi army. And, of course, they have every intention to treat them as hostile horses as the commander of the 7th Cavalry said to us earlier in the day:

I don’t think it’s fair to treat any horses US forces encounter as hostile.

Try watching the Closed Captioning on any of the news channels!

The poor bastards that have to transcribe what the reporter is saying are spelling all of the place names phonetically. Sometimes when they can’t keep up, they just put …

Also, it says “BOOM!” when there is an audible explosion

I personally like it when the closed captioning person gets messed up so badly that there is no way back and they just typing _alkdjf9oiwenba;slkd_ for a while before catching up again.

We were watching a show about computers and they had a lot of stuff that I can’t even spell, and the poor guy was getting so messed up— “Operating System Jagr”, “the Intell Selrno Procserro”— just awful. It was so annoying, too, because he was five minutes behind what was actually going on. Then finally he caught on, and he just wrote “…wait…wait…wait…wait…” until he knew where he was again.

:dubious:
