I saw a weird little movie’I think was called “Parents” with Randy Quaid. It’s a DRAMA about a family who eats the leftovers the father brings home from his job at a lab…human leftovers. Can anyone describe it better?

I’ll add that it’s premise is slightly similar to that of the Blair Witch and outdated by almost two decades.

For weirdness it really doesn’t compare with a lot of the movies mentioned here, but I’ve enjoyed [I Was A Zombie For The F.B.I.](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0138508/) since seeing it on USA’s Night Flight years ago.

> In summary, the title character falls to Earth during a big storm. He’s sick so the owners of the property where he crashed decide to nurse him back to health. He soon becomes a tourist attraction, and a travelling carnival shows up, presumably to take advantage of the situation. Then the carnival’s main attraction is dubbed “Spider Woman”, a being with a woman’s head and a spider’s body. Naturally, the spider body is a fake and her real body is out of sight, which allows the carnival’s owner (IIRC) to have sex with her without anyone seeing. Except those of us who are watching the movie.

Huh. IIRC In the original story, the spider body is real. It’s a Magical Realism story. So, when the family that finds the angel asks the priest for advice, he’s more concerned with theological minutaie such as whether the angel has a navel. I recommend the story.

I recently saw a weird film called “Gimme An F” on cable. It was a 1984 teen sex comedy about whacky hi-jinks at a cheerleading camp. It’s weirdness is kinda subtle. You would think a teen sex comedy about cheerleading would focus solely on female cheerleaders, but I’d say the guys in this movie were as much or more the sex objects than the women. It had some mild gay overtones, and a femdom/malesub romance, and no nudity or onscreen sex at all except for a shot of a cheerleader camp counselor having sex with the guy who owns the place, inexplicably wearing pasties over her nipples while she does him cowboy style.

Other than that, very little actual sex, plenty of shots of sexy cheerleaders cheerleading, mostly the “dance routine” kind of cheerleading sexed up quite a bit more than you probably see at a football game. (I don’t watch football games in person, so I’m not qualified to say.)

And most of the sex isn’t quite sexy and the jokes aren’t quite funny. Everything seems strangely off in this film, and that I guess is what makes watching it kinda weird. To give you an idea, the one of the naughty cheerleaders gets one of the nice cheerleaders to sneak off the camp to a nearby dance bar which caters to both genders but seems to feature mostly male dancers (one of the male cheerleading instructors dances there). The bad cheerleader is invited up to dance on the runway with one of the dancers then on the runway, and she does an attempt at raunchy dancing which was greatly inhibited by her general stiffness and unwillingess to grind against him. In fact, in one part of the dance she places his hands on her butt cheeks and then does what appears to be the bunny hop rather than a grind.

Very weird. It’s like they’re thinking sexy but are preadolescents who’ve been raised by Amish suburbanites and have no clue. The film steals bits from MASH and Road Warrior, but really, it’s just so strange, from the cheerleaders who jog with eggs in their mouths to the male Flashdance routine in the shower, and it never really makes sense in the logical human way of things.

Strangely, the writer of this weird flick, James V. Hart, went on to a pretty good career, writing screenplays for Hook, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Contact, some muppet movies, and quite a few others. Weird. Little. Flick. I don’t really recommend it.

Reefer Madness (aka Tell Your Children) is a pretty bizarre film. It’s hard to believe that it was intended as a serious anti-drug film.

It says something that I’ve seen most of the movies mentioned so far. And something more that I don’t think a lot of them are all that strange.

Fun weird:

_El Milagro de P. Tinto_

_The Groove Tube_

_Daikaijû Tôkyô ni arawaru_ - A great monster movie in which we never get to see the monsters. More about how a little rural town reacts to Tokyo getting smashed.

_Survive Style 5+_

_Party 7_

_Cha no Aji_

_Electric Dragon 80.000 V_

_Whatever Happened to Harold Smith?_
Ero weird

_Tokyo fundoshi no geisha_

_Ai no Corrida, aka In the Realm of the Senses_

_Attention les Yeux_

_T-bakku no hanayome_
Gross weird:

_Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood_

_Nekromantic_

_Cannibal Holocaust_
Weird weird:

_The Holy Mountain_

_Hakkyousuru no kuchibiru_

_Lisztomania_

_Hellywood_ (Lisztomania set in the early 80’s with Japanese teenagers)

_Life is Cheap, but Toilet Paper is Expensive_

_Mondo Cane_ & _Mondo Cane II_

_Nezi: The Night of the Crazy Screws_

_Pickled Punk_

Could you please either give a brief description (as you did with _Daikaijû Tôkyô ni arawaru_) or a link to the IMDB or similar page with a description?

I haven’t seen the above two films, but I can give some information on them

Guinea Pig- For a while, this was thought to be an actual snuff film. Man graphically tortures woman to death. Charlie Sheen actually reported the film to the FBI (cite Snopes). Then, they released Guinea Pig 2-The Making Of Guinea Pig 1. I’ve seen a catalogue selling Guinea Pig 7.

Nekromantic- Tagline “Death is only the beginning”. What if you were a young woman with a boyfriend? What if he was killed? What if you managed to keep the body? What if you found your relationship was much better now? Especially your sex life?

Three documentaries of note:

**Land Without Bread**. Directed by Luis Bunuel. Learn the absolutely unvarnished, solemn truth about the most primitive and impoverished people in the entire Iberian peninsula, and the horrible truth of their wretched existence. A prototypical use of the documentary format as social propaganda, this film also includes many fascinating insights into natural history, such as the fact that enraged honeybees are capable of killing an entire pack train of donkeys, or that mountain goats sometimes accidentally slip on cliff edges and plunge to their deaths for no reason at all. _“As we neared the village, we were greeted by a parade of freaks and imbeciles.”_

**Vernon, Florida.** Directed by Errol Morris, the guy who also directed “The Thin Blue Line” and “A Brief History of Time.” The filmmakers visit the rural Florida Panhandle town of Vernon and interview its inhabitants, who run the gamut from disturbingly odd to hilariously odd. Hear an elderly lady talk proudly about her pet jar of sand and its uncanny ability to reproduce by itself.

**Tribulation 99**. An ambitious film that attempts to explain the logic behind the United States’ foreign policy in Latin America during the latter half of the 20th century, by advancing the premise that the USA was really fighting a covert war against alien invaders. To no one’s surprise, it turns out that Castro is a robot.
