The Perfect Child[sup]TM[/sup] went to the Homecoming Pep Rally at her school last night. She came home and reported that 2 boys streaked behind the band - actually, one in boxers and one naked. As she told it they were so far away “…all you could see was hair” before they dashed into the woods at the far end of the field. I never attended pep rallies - then again, I don’t recall hearing about streakers while I was in high school in the early 70s - how common is this? Did you ever see streakers? Did you ever streak? Do you streak? Would you? Do you find them offensive? Amusing? Old hat? It’s time for naked running stories! Please do not post links - we all know how to google… ---

Not streaking, exactly, but when I was in grad school, my “group” liked to do the occassional naked hot tub/swimming pool thing. Usually late at night after liberal applications of alcohol. To get from the apartment to the hot tub/pool, one had to run across the apartment parking lot. It was more fun to make the mad dash naked, so we did. There was nothing sexual about any of this (even the group shower :eek: ), although we kidded the girls about choosing spots in the hot tub that made the best use of the jacuzzi jets. ---

I’ve been naked in my elevator once. Don’t ask me why I decided it would be fun but I left my apartment with just a set of keys at about 1am walked down to the elevator, went down to the lobby and back up and into my apartment. I wasn’t seen. I was lucky that no one was returning from the bars at that time. I have no idea what I would have done if somebody had gotten on. Probably pretending nothing was going on. It was all those puberty hormones. There was a streak at either my mother’s college graduation ceremony or one of her friends in the early 80s (at the height of the fad I believe). This guy ran up through the graduates and pied the dean. I believe it was a dare. Somebody has it on video. But you don’t really see anything. A good time was had by all under 30. Remember that episode of **Northern Exposure**? I’d do that. Something fun and a group things. I doubt I’d ever do a solo streak through unsuspecting people. Not my style. ---

Streaking was big in my neighborhood in the early 70s. Many of my friends indulged. It was funny and I suppose shocking at that time. I wouldn’t think twice today. (I might LOOK twice, but I wouldn’t THINK twice!) ---

I almost got ran over by one once. I was getting ready for class and I was walking out of the building to get something when this guy comes flying at me. He was totally nude, so I did the polite thing and held the door for him. As for doing it myself I might, but too many people know what I look like, what with the long hair and height and all. I have though thought about wearing my speedos and getting into the pool we have right out front and doing a few laps during lunch. ---

How could I have forgotten this?? I was all of 21, I think, living in San Diego. I was invited to a Christmas party by a friend from the flying club (my second home) - I found out at that point that he had a fair amount of money. Not only did he have a beautiful house, but he hired a couple, a woman and a man, to serve hors d’oervres wearing Santa hats and smiles. But I suppose it really doesn’t count at streaking. Neither of them was running, and I didn’t see anything but the woman’s shoulder. It was a crowded party and I’m only 5’5"… ---

Given that people are going jogging these days in gym shorts and no shirt, streaking in boxer shorts seems kind of pointless. Besides, that is _so_ 20th century. Maybe if they painted themselves interesting colors first… ---

Baltimore County. Parkville Senior High School c/o '72 I had to do a google search to find out about Robert Opel streaking the Academy Awards in '74 - I suppose I’d heard about it at the time. Honestly, tho, I don’t recall news about folks running around nekkid when I was in school. ---

Well, I was in high school in the mid-late 70’s (which, IIRC, was the height of the streaking fad in the US) and there were quite a few episodes around my school. The one time I personally joined in I found it horribly uncomfortable. My boys didn’t appreciate even a little bit being flounced and flopped around at high speed with no support at all. :eek: As a spectator, though, I was all for it. ---

At my school (University of VT), there’s somewhat of a tradition sometime in September/October for a huge group of students to streak across East Campus walking/running/biking. It’s usually in the evening, and there are a lot of participants. I don’t think they’re all completely naked, but enough are. It’s been over two years since I’ve lived on campus, but I can only assume it still goes on. Little prudish me would just keep reading/killing time on the computer as this went on right outside my window. ---

Streaking was already a major fad beofre that guys streaked the Academy Awards. I remember a televised Vancouver Canucks game being streaked by three _very_ attractive young women. Not only did they show it live on TV, but they showed it again in the intermission highlight package 🆒 . My favorite, though, was when some guy streaked the closing ceremonies of the Montreal Olympics. He pranced around among the dancers until security finally caught him and dragged him off 😃 ---

Any Boilermakers here? I remember the Cary Quad Nude Olympics from my college days. I lived off-campus, but IIRC, after the first snowfall of the year, students would gather clad only in sneakers and run round and round Cary Quad and the one who lasted the longest was the winner. The next issue of the _Exponent_ always had a shot of a bare butt shining in the darkness as the runner took another lap. ---

Streaking was a craze in the mid 70s. Then it kind of faded. ---

I have 2 stories: - My high school history teacher told us that about 20 years before my classmates and I were there (I graduated in '96), a group of guys decided to streak. They all wore paper bags or masks over their heads, so they couldn’t be recognized and get in trouble. Only one person was caught: the only black student the school had. - At my college graduation two years ago (from a small, Christian university, nonetheless), one of my female classmates flashed the audience after receiving her diploma. She was only nude from the waist up, but she did this right in front of the faculty, and that year we had won a live webcast of the ceremony. (They later edited the webcast so they could leave it up on the site.) ---

Back in the 70’s, a group of my friends decided to streak through the drive-in. We were parked in the very last row towards the far end of the place. My friends were not the trusting sort ( they thought that I would hide their clothes) so I told them that they could put their clothes in the trunk and take the key along with them. As soon as they started out, I put on the headlights and started laying on the horn. When they got about four rows up towards the big screen, my girlfriend and I decided this would be a good time to move the car somewhere to another part of the drive-in. I can still picture the shock on their faces when they returned to where we had originally parked. They kept running in circles around the parking lot until they found us, laughing hysterically. ---

A buddy of mine streaked a party in 1974. We were 19yo. But streaking was not really accurate. Oh we were buck naked, but streak makes it seem like we ran through the party. Not so. The house was packed so we ended up walking through. Which sort of took the shock value out of it, but it was fun and funny just the same. ---
