A jerk move in Risk is for two players to have an agreement to create an alliance and then steam roll every other player together. Then when they kill every other player in the game, because they both own so many territories but they’re poorly defended, they both agree to give up the game thus making everything pointless.
I have had this happen so many times playing Risk with “friends”.
Yes, this. The “spirit” of the rule has nothing to do with the “intent of not completing the pass”. It’s to penalize avoiding an obvious and imminent sack. Spiking the ball is as obvious as it gets when it comes to intentionally throwing an incompletion, but it’s clearly allowed.
This, exactly. With 5 seconds left, Mahomes could have run laterally, then backwards, and finally run out of the end zone, and the game would have still been over. @Robot_Arm thinks it’s okay for a punter to do this to end the game. I fail to see any distinction.
But I doubt if anybody’s mind is going to be changed.
The only people who care about that last 5 seconds are those that have money riding on the outcome, a blocked punt for a return and they cover the spread.
