# Striped shirts

I see lots of guys wearing striped t’s this summer. Why are all of these stripes sideways? What is wrong with vertical stripes? They do make you look thinner, you’d think that would be a plus.

As far as I know t’s and polos _always_ have horizontal stripes (if at all off course) and button down shirts _always_ have vertical stripes. I for one haven’t seen any exceptions to this rule yet.

The fashion at the moment where I live (UK) seems to be checked shirts - even (especially) for going to bars and nightclubs. Yet another fashion that I am delighted not to be following!
