Reading the arrest reports, I see that one of the dancers was charged with solicitation of an alcoholic beverage - she asked an undercover cop to buy her a drink. Is it really a crime in Florida for a woman to ask a guy to buy her a drink in a bar? ---

Don’t know if that, in and of itself is a crime, or because the woman in question was not old enough to consume alcohol (born 2/24/1986). One of the other women’s signs shows “Warrant - VOP” which I think means “Violation of Parole”. ---

True, but the officer bought the lap dance, not the “sex act.” The stripper then engaged in the “sex act” while dancing. If I were defending the stripper, I would certainly claim that, the transaction already having taken place under the specified terms ($30.00 for a one-song dance), that the stripper just got a little too “into it.” Plead to lewd conduct and pay a fine. And, on reading the police reports, some (I don’t know about all) of the arresting officers were WOMEN. Which adds a whole new wrinkle to it, with regard to defenses. ---

Though it’s the only reason that I’ve ever bought a lapdance, I’ve always thought that the bumping and grinding was pretty much illegal everywhere in the US because it was sexual contact for money. 😕 ---
