# Strom Thurmond's Famous Fillibuster - Details needed?

Trying to help my daughter with a school project…apparently Sen. Thurmond holds the record for longest one man fillibuster. Back in the days when a fillibuster required holding the floor.
We can’t find a site with any details about what he spoke about or read etc.
Any help?

If you go to a [Federal Repository Library](http://www.gpoaccess.gov/libraries.html), they should have the Congressional Record from that date. You could read or xerox the speech if you’re really interested.
