Ever happen to you? My sister is building a new home, expected to be completed in 18 mos. or so. She talked about a big family get- together when it was done. I had an incredibly strong feeling I won’t be around to see that day. ---

I know what you mean, but it hasn’t happened in your circumstances. I used to get that feeling whenever I had to fly anywhere. I turned down free vacations in Hawaii because I couldn’t get on airplane. Xanax is awesome. ---

Premonition, no. But I’ve been in situations where I’ve wished for its sweet, swift release. Who hasn’t. ---

Look on the bright side, maybe the premonition that you won’t be at your sister’s housewarming means you will have won the grand sweepstakes prize on Anthony Scaramucci’s new breakout hit daytime talkshow “Queen 4 A Day” and you’ll be away on your all-expenses-paid trip to visit the internationally celebrated discount outlet malls of Spokane, WA. ---

I have that feeling all the time about big events. Sometimes I’ll think about a trip or celebration I should be looking forward to, and I’ll feel sad because I might not be around then. Then the thing happens and I’m like, “Whew! Made it.” One of these days I’ll be right. 🆒 ---

Never have I had this feeling. Hey, I know I’m going to die, of course, at some point, but it always seems so far away that I don’t even think about. I’m 57 and in really good health, so that probably factors in. It must be a drag thinking one may die in 18 months. ---

Two examples: I have always believed I would not live to see 50. It wasn’t youthful “die young and good looking” bravado, it was a deep-down knowledge I just knew. I turned 50 last April. I will not lie that I had a ton of mental exhaustion as I neared my 50th with a growing anxiety that I would not make it. I travel a lot for business and log quite a few airline miles per year. I have some small anxiety about flying and not a single flight doesn’t go by when I don’t have to beat down the fear of an airplane crash. It is all manageable and does not impact my ability to perform my job nor am I basket case on the flight. However, I did once become so absolutely convinced that if I got on a flight that I would die. In this one instance I did refuse to get on the plane, made up an excuse to my employer and re-booked on a different flight. Of course the original flight arrived safely and on-time. MeanJoe
