Students! Come rant! it's that time of year!

Please tell us the degree wasn’t in English or Communications…

Screw the new edition of textbooks! It’s just reordered pages anyway. Between having no choice but to buy a brand-new one and not being able to sell it afterwards, I’m stuck with a couple of $100 hunks of useless textbook, one of which was so badly written I couldn’t use it anyway.

The semester is over, but I feel the need to rant that in the last week of classes and during finals week, I had:[ul]
[li]Two in-class final exams (did I mention that it’s school policy NOT to have in-class finals, or a “second/third” exam the last week of class?[/li][li]A twenty-page paper due for the same class that had a final (due the same day of the final, no less)[/li][li]A final presentation due for the same class that had the final and the paper (this was the class before the final.)[/li][li]Two take-home final exams from a third class. One of which was originally about ten questions, each one would be a several page answer. Luckily, the coordinator for the course realized it was way too much work, and assigned late (the prof. who assigned was done with his section weeks ago but didn’t give his take-home exam till the last week of class,) so each person in the class took just one question.[/li][li]Another final presentation, this time for the class with the two take-homes.[/li][/ul]

It should also be noted that, had the coordinator and another prof. not helped us in that last class, we would have had TWO more take-home exams that last week. One was dismissed because the prof. just gave one lecture on the subject, and the other prof. combined his take-home with the presentation, so we basically got a double-grade on it.

Oh, and I still don’t know my final grades for any class, even though two had grades weeks ago and the other last week, because apparently I forgot to check a tiny little box on my loan acceptance that let them pay for my health insurance, so I have a hold on my account for $830. Yes, this is technically my fault, but the way the box was worded was confusing. It was something like:

“Do you want to let your loan pay for non-direct educational expenses?”

WTF are those? No one told my health-insurance wasn’t a “direct” expense. I figured it meant things like a parking permit or a bookstore bill charged to my account.

why, because it might make you quack?

Spectre that sucks! Jo or Ryu?

(I’m in the same program, for everyone else.)

Ah. I see further down its been resolved. Good.

Indeed it has. I got a decent grade on the paper and came out with a B for the class. Considering that I hated every moment of writing the paper, and was convinced of its total lack of quality, I was pleasantly surprised with the the outcome.

(It was Ryu).
