Wiki on 2006 Russian ban on Georgian and Moldavian wine: [2006 Russian ban of Moldovan and Georgian wines - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Russian_ban_of_Moldovan_and_Georgian_wines) I’m guessing this statement from Georgia didn’t help much, " Georgian Defense Minister [Irakli Okruashvili](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irakli_Okruashvili) stated that “many [Georgian] wine producers exported falsified wine to Russia, because Russia is a market where you can sell even [turds](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feces)”.([2006 Russian ban of Moldovan and Georgian wines - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Russian_ban_of_Moldovan_and_Georgian_wines#cite_note-6)) Okruashvili thought that Russia’s decision to ban the import of Georgian wines “was not a surprise” for Tbilisi.
