I totally agree. Many people fear quitting their jobs and starting their own business because of the fear of losing health insurance and retirement.
I’ll tell you. I cited an article about a study that showed that the rate of entrepreneurship goes up among poor people when they have access to social safety net programs.
You responded by asking “Is this article saying that WIC and SNAP recipients are the leading pool of entrepreneurs in the US right now?”
That’s not the response of someone who is seriously interested in the issue. Even if the poor lag well behind the middle class and the upper class in terms of entrepreneurship, it doesn’t change the fact that access to a social safety net INCREASES their rate of entrepreneurship.
Your response is the sort one might expect of someone is trying to discredit the survey by subtly hinting that helping poor people achieve is not all that useful. After all, a LOT more upper class people are entrepreneurs, so let’s help THEM instead!
So it was natural for me to think you might be against poor people being entrepreneurs.
