McDonald’s fries used to be the greatest food in the world. Then some stupid vegetarians/vegans made them stop cooking them in beef fat. Now they’re only slightly okay, and even then only if you somehow luck into actually getting a fresh batch. ---

I haven’t had them in years but remember loving them when I was a kid (them being super salty and oily was a big hook at the time, and a reason for abstaining later). Didn’t know there was a fundamental change in the recipe though. ---

However, I think they may have stopped preparing them this way even earlier. ---

Sizzler salad dressing. Back in the day they used to have a heart-stoppingly wonderful hot bacon dressing in the salad bar, kept hot in its own steam table set-up. That stuff was the best! then California made it illegal and the salad bar turned “healthy.” ---
