> I’m not super proud to admit this, but I got hooked on the last air bender while watching it with my nephew and then proceeded to watch the rest of the series sans child present. While the humor in it is definitely angled towards kids, the overarching storyline is extremely well done and will keep you watching as an adult.

I’m not ashamed at all to admit that I liked it, and I never had a kid to watch any of it with. The only things that make it a “children’s show” are the implausibly young ages of the main characters and the implausibly low death toll.

> Are you a nerd? If so, you and your daughter will enjoy Phineas and Ferb on the Disney Channel. Full of meta-jokes and wry humor, but silly enough that kids’ll dig it.

> Curse you, Percy the Platypus! That’s what I was coming to post! My 7-year-old loves Phineas and Ferb, as does her 5-year-old brother.

> Fine. Yes, I really like it, too.

And for even more geeky fun, did you all realize the Dad on P&F is voiced by Rocky Horror creator Richard O’Brien?

Muppet Show DVDs. Of course she won’t recognize the guest stars, but hey, I didn’t recognize most of 'em either when I was her age.

The Looney Tunes cartoons mentioned upthread are also on my list of things I must make the young flodnaks watch to complete their American cultural education, so of course I heartily endorse them as well.
