Jimmy Z pants and shorts. They were a surf wear company in the 80s, and they had this design with a heavy velcro “belt” thing that when you closed it, you had another pocket. This mean that they were infinitely adjustable in waist line, but not elastic. The only downside was the sound when you took your pants off (the loud ripping sound of the velcro releasing). I had shorts in tan that I wore out. Archer Farms (Target store brand) Southwest Style Lasagna. Basically an Enchillada Lasagna with meat, beans, corn, peppers, enchillada sauce and corn tortilla layers with cheese. Awesome stuff. For $7 I got three good meals out of it. They also used to make a Chicken sausage with walnuts and alfredo sauce lasanga, which was not only nearly equally awesome, but my deathly-allergic-to-tomatoes mother could enjoy it. ---

There was a soda made by the Clearly Canadian company around 2000-2002ish. It came in a pastel blue glass bottle, and tasted similar to European-style lemonade with a dash of grapefruit soda. One of my favorite drinks in high school, but sadly dead and buried. The grocery store set of Gilmore Girls has a bunch of it on the shelves in the early seasons; I always notice that when my wife’s watching old episodes. I’ve been terrified that one of my favorite current products (TrueLemon, TrueLime) will suffer a similar fate. It’s little packets of lime and lemon flavor. One packet is enough to make a quart of water subtly fruity and it’s been a great tool to drink less soda and juice. I’m the only person I’ve ever met who’s ever heard of it. ---

Oh, another (stupid) one: The Body Shop’s coconut oil hair…stuff. It came in a little old-timey pomade tin, and a tiny dab mixed with water kept my hair lookin’ good all day. And it smelled like coconuts. It disappeared for a while. I think they actually sell a product with the same name now, but it comes in a plastic cosmetics tub, blah. I’ll probably buy some at some point, but without the charming tin, it lost the magic. ---

I usually have at least 3 or 4 boxes of each lurking around the house, the car, my mom’s house, in my purse… 😃 ---
