Obviously, cigarette and hard liquor ads have been banned from TV ads for ages… but were ads for smokeless tobacco banned, too? I saw Skoal and Copenhagen ads during sports programs for ages after cigarette advertising was banned, but haven’t seen any in years. And what about wine coolers? In the 80s, there were countless TV ads for those (Bruce Willis used to do Seagram’s ads). CAN they be advertised on TV? ---

Maybe they’re only allowed after a certain time at night. ---

Back in the 90s there was an entire series of memorable (memorable in a WTF way) ads for Mentos (the freshmaker!). I haven’t seen one of those ads in at least a decade. And I do see hard liquor ads on TV, but if you watch closely they never show anyone actually drinking any. ---

Ovaltine and Nestles Quik powder used to be advertised constantly when I was a kid. I know they’re still around, because I see them on supermarket shelves, but I haven’t seen any ads for either product in a long time. ---
