My long time peeve is posters who use the third person to refer to themselves. In a thread title it is especially pretentious and annoying. Add a “Where” to start it off and you end up with a pretentious cliche-- the worst of all worlds. An example title for you: **Where elf6c gets on his high horse about thread titles** See sounds stupid, doesn’t it? So stop it. Unless you are the Queen of England using the third person to refer to yourself is wrong. :mad: Not that anyone should care what **elf6c** thinks. . . . 😉 ---

I may have to go with **Evil Captor** here (if only because he’s an Evil Captor and I have no choice) But look at the Pit right now. Here are the titles (and yes, the threads take me about three minutes to load) “Definately” “Cats!” “Crickets!” “People Are Stupid” \*Ed: no shit that’s what this whole forum is about \* “Kittens” “Zooooom” I guess really it’s more out of pity that I complain. The OP to these threads may be hilarious and fascinating, but I have NOT OPENED ONE of them, because I have no concept as to what they’re about. It’s for your OWN GOOD PEOPLE. Give us a hint, a hook, something to make us read. I know there’s limited space, but there’s sure as hell more space than “Cats!!” requires. ---

I’d just like to point out that the “Definately” thread is obvious, as is any other misspelled one-word thread title. Seriously folks, it’s a thread _title_, not a thread _description_. ---

Actually, with “Definately” the title sums it up pretty neatly, as it was a rant against people misspelling the word. Lame, perhaps, but the title was as descriptive as necessary.
