# Stupid brain. Shut up! I turned off the coffee maker!

Same with me about the clock radio. Check, recheck 5 mins. later. Hope the backup battery is still good in case the power goes off. The old fashioned wind ups were better for waking you up reliably.  
Concerning keys, I just had duplicates of car and house keys made. Stashed the house key by the door and kept the spare car keys in by wallet. Saved my bacon a few times.
