All this talk of stupid car names is pointless. Sierra, Sienna, Siena, Ciera; the similarity of the names pales in comparison to the name of a car Mitsubishi has been producing for years. “Mitsubishi Diamante” is about as close to ridiculous–or redundant–as a car manufacturer can get. “Mitsubishi,” as the company proclaimed in a commercial years ago, means “three diamonds” in an Asian Language. This supposition lead to the company’s logo, three red shapes resembling diamonds. Then comes the Diamante, which is translated in Spanish as “diamond.” Well, if any car name is worse than, in English now, the Three-Diamond Diamond, please feel free to present it. ---

I submit the Utopian Turtletop. Fortunately for us, the executives at Ford came to their senses and chose to name the car after the founder’s son and former company president. They called it the Edsel. ---

I would have to say that VW’s [Touareg](http://www.vw.com/touareg/) is ridiculous in name and concept. Seriously, how did that get out of the smoky backroom where they think of names? Also, while I’m sure there’s money to be made selling ridiculously overpriced SUVs to drug dealers, high school basketball stars and corporate executives with erectile dysfunction, but we really have enough of those already… ---

My vote for worst car name of all time still goes to the Probe. I mean think about it… Probe :eek: C’mon! There are enough phallic and exploratorily yucky connotations to that name that I probably don’t have room here to list them all. It still gives me the heebie geebies after all these years! What were they thinking?
