The effect is not so much a matter of “stipulation” so much as having a target rich environment. Ever since the inmates took over the asylum, batshit policy suggestions lie thick upon the ground. ---

Jesus. This thread is not about “Democratic ideas”. It’s about stupid things Democrats are doing. Most of the people pretending not to understand the distinction have participated in the Republican thread, and didn’t have a problem with it then. Let me simplify: based on the course the other thread took, if a Democrat says or does it, it counts. Those who didn’t read the other thread, or haven’t for a long time have a good excuse. Most of you don’t. ---

Since the GOP thread includes stupid things Republican politicians have said and done outside of legislative proposals I see no problem with posting anything of the sort. Or just post whatever you want. Jeebus. ---

There are plenty of other interesting side debates to have here about the various levels of offense and hypocrisy committed by Weiner vs various Republicans, or the actions of **Mr Moto** , but when someone starts a thread whose basic point is “Weiner did something bad”, trying to start one of those side debates just seems like refusal to accept that your guy did something bad by obfuscating the issue. Oh, and **Diogenese** , you’re totally full of it. This is precisely in the “Stupid Republican Idea of the Day” wheelhouse, with reversed party affiliation. Sure, there are plenty of more substantive actual-issues posts in that thread, but this would be totally unremarkable there. Oh, and for the record, Weiner acted like a douche bag. I condemn his actions. ---

Jeebus. I tend to agree with you here. The GOP thread has plenty of similar events posted within it. I wish you luck in creating a competing thread, others have failed miserably in the past. The GOP thread is at over 3000 posts so far with this post you’re up to 56 I think the GOP really does just have more stupid ideas. But if your thread keeps going as it is with 50 false equivalency posts for every stupid idea you might just get a competing post count. I’ll put arguing Wieners actions aren’t valid for a ‘stupid Democrat idea’ is itself a stupid idea. ---
