In similar news, the man listed as a suspect in the shooting has received “thousands” of death threats. This was a man who no one witnessed do anything wrong; he was a black man legally carrying a legal long-arm. Apparently, the Dallas police force considers exercising one’s “constitutional right” makes one a suspect in and of itself. Surely the NRA will recognize this travesty and come to this gun-owner’s defense. Right? Right? ---

It’s only legal to carry a gun if you’re white. Same thing as the guy in Minnesota who was shot by the cop while reaching for his ID after the cop ASKED for his ID and the guy NOTIFIED him that he was carrying. ---

A publicity seeker pulled a gun on a BLM protest [in Portland](http://www.oregonlive.com/#/0) (scroll down to video) yesterday. This guy is well known here as someone who likes to wave guns around while his partner films the reactions. Then they post it on a site called “Laughing at Liberals”. He claims he was afraid of the crowd, so pulls his weapon and threatens them all. One man in the crowd did his best to keep the crowd back and urged the idiot to just move away so everyone would be safe, but he wouldn’t leave. Someone called the cops and he was arrested for menacing. He had five mags on him and a knife, in addition to the loaded, round-in-the-chamber pistol. They’ve upped the ante and charged him with a felony, with bail set at $250K. This guy is a death waiting to happen, IMO. ---

Kudos to the guy trying to help keep the crowd back. The guy with the gun seemed to have every opportunity to get the hell out of the situation. Idiot. What I found most amazing is that a guy is waving a gun around in public, and the police show up and arrest him with no one getting hurt!! However did they manage to take an armed and dangerous thug into custody without emptying their guns on him? They should share this arcane knowledge with other police departments. ---

I’m assuming that he kept his hands away from the sidearm, knowing full well that anything else may result in his demise. The guy isn’t actually a thug, just another 2nd Amendment gun nut. It could easily have turned ugly if someone in that crowd had been a “good guy with a gun” and decided to start banging away. There could have been multiple injuries or deaths. ---

The police should not have tried to locate the man listed as a suspect and investigated? If we’re thinking the same guy, he turned himself in, became a non suspect. Not sure who the idiots are doing the death threats and they should bear the weight of the law on that bullshit. On the other hand, there were reports of openly long gun carrying members of the protest. Why didn’t they take out the sniper since all is needed is a good guy with a gun at the scene? ---

A black guy tells police he has a gun, reaches into his pocket to get the ID the police had just requested, and gets blasted. A white guy waves a gun around in public, threatens to shoot people, and manages to get arrested without a scratch. ---
