I believe this counts as “stupid gun news”: Georgia’s lieutenant governor Casey “Sunshine Band” Cagle, eager to dispel the scurrilous characterization of suck-up politicians being shamelessly in the pocket of the gun lobby, announced he will [block any legislation offering tax incentives to Delta Airlines](http://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/375646-georgia-lt-gov-threatens-delta-unless-it-restores-relationship-with-nra) because he’s butthurt over them ending their 2-10% fare discount for NRA members attending the annual convention in Dallas. "“Corporations cannot attack conservatives and expect us not to fight back,” Cagle tweeted.” ---

Bad guy with gun holding 100 people hostage in a church is stopped by good guys **without** guns. Doing nothing is better than a half-assed compromise that has the worst features of both ends of the debate and the benefits of neither. It’s like arguing that just because you can’t swim from Los Angeles to Hawaii doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t at least “try” by swimming as far as you can. Sometimes compromise really _doesn’t_ work. ---
