Maybe there’s some NRA guy getting annoyed that lately there have been at least two cases where an unarmed guy has fought back and survived. They gotta set an example; don’t even try to protect yourself without a gun, dammit ! ---

I’m not entirely sure where [this belongs.](http://www.fox19.com/story/38138525/misunderstanding-led-to-man-holding-emt-at-gunpoint) In many ways, it qualifies as a DGU with no deaths, so could go in “positive news”. He certainly could answer the question:“During the last 12 months, have you confronted another person with a firearm, even if you did not fire it, to protect yourself, your property, or someone else?” as a “Yes”, due to this encounter. It is a good thing that this did not happen with the “[positive news](https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20946544&postcount=1320)” lady that is currently featured in that thread. 'Straya counts a “mass shooting” as 5 or more victims in addition to the gunman. In [this case, there were 6 or 7](https://www.watoday.com.au/national/western-australia/margaret-river-tragedy-australia-sees-its-worst-mass-shooting-since-port-arthur-in-1996-20180511-p4zere.html). But they all knew each other: it looks like a man shot up his family and then himself (police are not searching for a suspect). ---

The Second Amendment means the libs have guns, too. And now, assuming the sign isn’t taken down by law enforcement for terrorist threats, they have every reason to do exactly that.
