Well, that thing that’s supposed to be nigh impossible has happened again: a gun fell to the floor and mysteriously discharged. In this case, a rifle leaning up against a wall fell over, went off, and shot the owner through both heels. Late night arts festival in Trenton NJ turns into a shooting gallery. Twenty two injured, no fatalities reported. One suspect is dead, one is in custody. It appears that a dispute among several people escalated until the guns came out. Because an armed society is a polite society. Not right away, of course. That guy was also driving under a suspended license. Not sure why we require licenses to drive, since criminals will just ignore that law. ---

I’m in eastern Europe at the moment. I was speaking with two Romanian men touring by motorcycle. One of them was a border guard. I add them if they wanted to tour the US and they said no, there are too many guns. Put a man on the moon, invent the Internet, and be the birthplace of Rock and Roll, but let several hundred school children be killed st school and that’s all you are known for. ---

Kid finds free gun at IKEA. Gets to test it out. [/sarcasm] I assume that in the 8 hour training class that people are supposed to take before they can walk around public with a gun, they don’t actually teach anything about ensuring that your gun actually stays on you. They should really add that tidbit of advice to the students they pump through the CCW classes these days. Especially if you are going to utterly ignore the “no weapons” policy that the private property owner has requested of citizens wishing to come into the premises. I get the people that refuse to enter a store that has a “no guns” sign, as they are unable to function without their fetish, but to ignore the desires of the private property owners upon which they are imposiung shows a certain mindset that rules just don’t apply to them, because they have a gun. ---

But, seriously, you have a problem with gun free zones, then that’s fine, don’t go into them, if you think that it makes you unsafe. Don’t just refuse to recognize the private property owner’s rights though, and bring your gun into the gun free zone. That makes _you_ the criminal. That makes _you_ the danger to the public.
