Did you see the response from the family of the [woman who was murdered (along with her five children and mother)](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/enoch-utah-eight-family-members-five-kids-shot-dead-at-home/) by her estranged husband a week or so ago? What the family is saying in that first quote is “someone, knowing that the others knew how to use guns, took all guns out of their reach” that is, that if the others still had their guns this would not have happened – but in the first post they (conveniently?) do not name that it was the husband/attacker that was that “someone”, and therefore kept all the guns for himself. ---

Fair enough. I suppose if you were to embark on a plan to murder your whole family you want to stack the deck in your favor so removing the guns makes some sense. But really…I doubt it mattered much. His wife would be the biggest threat but chances are she’s the first one shot with no chance to get to the guns. That leaves grandma (78) and a 17 year-old. Maybe the twelve-year old. The other kids were seven or younger. I would think a household with young kids would secure their guns. They are not lying loaded in kitchen drawers and behind the X-Box “just in case.” In short, I doubt anyone could have used the guns in self defense in this circumstance. ---

Personally I don’t care who was shot first, or who took who’s guns away … that entire family is a collective pile of shit for defending gun rights in the very memorial post regarding five people murdered via gun. Fuck them. I hope they find no peace. ---

It says it is for funeral expenses if necessary. It now has almost $95,000. I wonder who will get that since the entire family is dead?
