A couple of stand-out points in that article: 1. The boy’s father said, “[They]’ve taken every action that we possibly can in [their] own power”. Nah. Here’s a nifty one: don’t have the gun at home. 2. The dad bought the safe from a Chinese company. Apparently (according to the dad), all fingerprints look alike to the safe. According to the KETV staff, though, the thing works as advertised provided one follows the instructions. ---

So, today’s stupid gun news: A bus driver and a passenger get into a [gun battle](https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/28/us/charlotte-bus-shooting/index.html). On the bus. While it’s moving. With other passengers aboard. Both idjits survived. The passenger (who wanted off between stops and got enraged when told no) was gut-shot. The driver (who kept firing after the threat was neutralized) got hit in the arm. Oh, and he wasn’t supposed to be packing heat and has been fired, while the passenger is facing criminal charges. There’s video of the encounter with the story, and it looks to me as if the driver actually shot first. ---
