The idea that it’s newsworthy that we have a surplus in April. Even if income tax is collected throughout the year, April will usually deviate more than other months because we don’t know how the final tax figures will differ from the withholding. So it’s unsurprising that we’re running a surplus in April. ---

I agree. The fact that we’re running any surplus at all while we still have such high unemployment is incredibly stupid. ---

It’s better than no surplus, but why did they have to bait and switch me with the headlines. It’s like a science headline that wrote “SCIENTISTS DISCOVER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE may be closer than we once thought” Which isn’t to say that I didn’t know it was a come-on immediately, but tell that to my reptilian instant process and ask questions later part of my brain. ---

What does President Obama have to do with liberals, smart or stupid? He’s no liberal. Make him white and move him back in time 15-20 years and he’d be just another Republican. ---
