Or it could be that Texans drink so much of that Loan Star beer that they see double all the time. ---

To be absolutely correct, Obama might better have added “with as high a frequency.” When I first heard that part of his speech, I, too, immediately thought of Scotland, Sweden, Australia, and a few others. But it was obvious in context, given that he has had to give this speech fourteen times. No other of the westernized democracies suffers that kind of repetitious, year-after-year mass murder. If the most anyone can find to complain about liberals is the lack of one qualifying phrase in a speech, we’re doing pretty good. ---
