And so it begins. One day in the not too distant future black Republican politicians will be commonplace and roughly fifty percent of the black population will be voting Republican like the roughly fifty percent of white voters who vote Republican do now. Which means of course that in the foreseeable future half the black population will suddenly find themselves being excoriated by their erstwhile champions on the left as selfish, evil, greedy morons. I can hardly wait. 😃 ---

Everyone who doesn’t believe what you believe is like me. Later on we’ll be gathering to discuss cruelty and the many ways it should inform our every action. Then it’s off to Diebold where our boys will go over their plan to steal the '12 election. Obviously we’ll never be able to win fair and square on our platform. As Thomas Frank tried to tell you, most Americans are really European-style welfare-statists who think freedom only means the freedom to exploit. ---

I don’t think the average conservative is a racist, so it’s a false accusation to go around saying that they are. Racism is one issue where conservatives generally admitted they were wrong and changed their attitudes (or rather, they changed their attitudes). Trouble is, false accusations and disparaging of the motives of their opponents have been conservatives’ bread-and-butter these days. They’re always using language to imply liberals/Democrats are communists. A while ago they were accusing them of “hating America” and “wanting the terrorist to win”. And accusing them of waging a “war on Christmas” has become a holiday tradition. Gays and their supporters are accused of trying to “undermine” marriage, of “promoting” homosexuality, and engaging in a coverup to hide the fact that homosexuality is a choice that can be cured. On climate change, scientists are accused of conspiring to scam grant money while activists are accused of trying to destroy the economy so they can implement socialism. The non- Ground Zero Mosque was accused of being an exercise in Islamic triumphalism. Need I go on? So while it’s wrong to go around accusing conservatives of racism, at least that was real to begin with. ---

I’ve been listening to a new mainstream techno radio station for a couple weeks now. It’s no style that hasn’t been around for almost 20 years, but unfortunately it’s better than any other station when I can’t get NPR talk. But one tagline I heard from them the other day was “conservative? Then this ain’t YOUR station!” Huh? I guess if by “conservative” you mean “uptight Footloose throwbacks who want to ban dancing”, then yeah. But the lyrics usually don’t mention anything at all concretely, much less explicit sexual descriptions, and the musical style is straight out of the mid-90s, so the canard that conservatives should automatically hate this station is pretty stupid. Although, if their tagline were “Hate being reminded of the 90s when we were doing much better economically under Bill Clinton? Then this ain’t your station!” then they’d have a point. ---
