Do you think that the President of the United States needs special protection from insults because of his race? Sure I get the difference. On the street, in the workplace, in personal relations. But if you can compare GWB and Ted Cruz’s kids to chimps, you can do it to President Obama. History and context are meaningless in his case. There’s no history of a black President either. As President, people can say whatever the hell they want to about him. ---

We don’t need the PC Patrol to ensure that Obama’s ears are never tainted by a racist statement. That’s not what this is about. It’s about having some fucking _standards_ in our discourse. About some things just not being fair game, or at least recognizing that whoever made the statement is pretty much an unmitigated cunt that has no business being a part of any conversation with pretty much anyone. Yeah, attacking someone’s kids is bad. We _all_ agree with that. But there’s simply no comparison. It doesn’t matter that, unlike Central and South America, the indigenous population was wiped out, and that nearly everyone in Cuba is of European decent. Latinos (for the most part) aren’t voting for Republicans regardless of whether they’re white Latinos or non-white Latinos. They certainly aren’t going to change their voting preferences based on how “liberals” classify them. ---
