Ok, here’s my Stupid Liberal Idea of the Day. A bit of dark whimsy, not one I would actually endorse, but you know, just sharpening the guillotines. 😛 Like the old Hebrew Jubilee of forgiveness every 49 years, let’s have a 40-year sacrifice to Capitalism. Every 40 years, we will randomly but publicly execute 10% of the Forbes 400 Richest Americans. Their assets will be seized, liquidated and distributed among the poorest 40% of the population, with no more than 5% allowed to go to administration and legal fees. At the same time, we will likewise seize not more than 40% of the 40 largest university endowments, and distribute that money between the poorest 40% of public schools in the form of endowment funds. Again, not more than 5% allowed to go to administration and legal fees. 40-40-40 Forty of the 400 richest, 40 funds, 40% benefit, every 40 years. 😃 ---

**Chimera** ’s idea would have a fascinating consequence: toward year 39 of the cycle, the richest of the rich would struggle not to be the richest of the rich any more. There would be a spree of charitable giving, as they sought not to be in the topmost 40. It would, on F-Day, be very difficult to identify the 40 richest; there might well be a million-person tie for the richest. ---

The protesters in California. Blocking traffic and trying to get in the hotel to stop Trump from speaking. 1. Protest all you want, you have no right to stop another from speaking. 2. Your antics piss off possible supporters. 3. You play into and prove correct the Right’s rhetoric. Get back on the sidewalks, scream and wave your signs all you want, respect the rights you expect others to respect toward you. ---

Both are problematic people for different reasons, but neither is really stupid. Grayson is a hothead and Reid is just 100% pure dick, so it’s not surprising that they’d have this kind of tiff. The Democrats did good recruiting Pat Murphy though. That’s a future Presidential prospect right there. That was definitely a case of a smart liberal idea. ---

Perhaps, but it’s totally predictable. Grayson was going to throw a fit and Reid has never been one to hide his disdain for those he has no respect for. Can’t blame people for being who they are. I think the stupid part is Grayon’s supporters, who tried to portray him as some kind of progressive hero when he’s really just the liberal version of Donald Trump. ---
