The money wasn’t a gift; it was ordered by an international court to settle long-outstanding claims. Trump’s Twitter feed? I brought it up originally when I saw it in the Twin Cities Star Tribune, a respected paper, and if there was one the ‘liberal’ paper to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. So I guess my outrage still works, only now turned on the poor reporting of the ‘liberal’ media in Minnesota. ---

In other words, I don’t think he’s serious - it’s a rhetorical device bill. ---

It’s actually not very dumb, assuming you leave an exception for if another country launches a strategic nuclear strike against us that endangers our retaliatory capability. But for first use of nukes, I’ve got no problem giving that power to Congress. ---

Assuming he means no more than four or five people, i.e the ranking members of each party and maybe the SecDef, I agree with him that that’s better than having it be the decision of a single person, no matter who that person is. ---

How about a compromise? Since the Secretary of Defense must be approved by the Senate, use him as a proxy for approval by Congress.
