Oh, ha. I get it. Cute. Kinda dumb though. I mean, you have to add the _u_ and the _me_ to the _ass_ to make _assume_. So like, “when you assume, you’re sticking u and me onto the end of an ass” doesn’t really work. And meaning-wise, although “you make an ass out of _yourself_ when you assume things” could work in some cases, I don’t see how “you make an ass out of _me_ when you assume things” would work in most cases. [At Chicago’s “Dyke Pride” march, people were kicked out for carrying rainbow flags with stars of david](http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2017/06/25/demonstrators_carrying_star_of_david_flags_kicked_out_of_chicago_dyke_march.html). This is stupid for at least three reasons: (1) It’s just generally a dick move (2) Israel has a record on gay rights that is vastly better than most (all?) of the countries surrounding it (3) It plays right into the narrative that the right is desperately trying to make stick about the intolerant left ---

Ayup. It’s worth repeating for the sake of clarity that this was not the main Pride march but rather a smaller one organized by a different group on a different day, but this certainly looks like a stupid liberal idea on the face of it. ---

Damn, that is a confusing choice of photo. Also, Liberal or not, right or wrong, it does look like the people who were asked to leave chose the wrong symbol for the wrong protest, whether as an innocent misunderstanding or as an attempt to stir up trouble.
