I read somewhere that voluntarily getting a tattoo disqualifies one’s remains from burial in certain Jewish graveyards. Something about intentionally causing harm to/disfiguring one’s own body, I gathered. Whether that’s true, or whether my speculation about the actual commandment behind the prohibition is correct, I have no idea. I’m also not sure that it falls under the heading of “Things That Are/Are Not Covered By The Laws Governing What Is _Kashrut_ And What Is _Treif_.” ---

Political correctness is the stupid liberal idea of the decade. [Look at these examples.](http://nationalpost.com/news/canada/heres-all-the-innocuous-things-that-suddenly-became-racist-in-2017) (Many of these are from right-wing idiots rather than the lawnmower-lady clique, but the Liberal Idea thread seems lonely so I posted here. 🙂 ) - Hoop earrings are No-no: they appropriate Latino identity - Dr. Seuss is racist - Casting a black for _Star Wars_ is “White Genocide” - whites mustn’t quote Beyoncé - saying “Don’t disregard opposing viewpoints” in a commencement address is advocating white genocide - Justin Trudeau’s pro-refugee policies “prolong the genocide of Indigenous people” - the film _Dunkirk_ was sexist and racist: why no black women soldiers on the beach? - a video game where shooting Nazis is a goal is “anti-white” - Et cetera I realize these stupidities are all far more extreme than the politically correct stupidities espoused at SDMB. But enough is enough! Let’s Live and Let Live. Progressive thinkers with their sanctimonious p.c. ideas led to the election of Donald Trump. Please Get a Clue or Get off the keyboard. ---
