Not really the same thing. They didn’t point out his not making the case that it was a liberal idea to begin with – they quibbled with whether it should more properly be a NY idea, or that a Democratic idea would be more appropriate, or whatever.

I’m both a liberal and a Democrat and I’d actually welcome a thread like the OP’s. I think that if there’s stupidity on my side of the political spectrum it should be highlighted, addressed, discussed, and sometimes mocked. I think if there’s enough stupidity out there, and enough people willing to discuss it, eventually we’ll get something close to its cousin thread of stupid Republican ideas.
So yes, I welcome a thread like the OP’s. I don’t welcome the actual OP, though, because the actual OP is fucking retarded.

I’d definitely prefer a stupid Democrat thread. It makes things much more straightforward when the only criteria is “Someone with a (D) after their name did something stupid.” Attacking ideology is a bigger minefield that’s far more open to interpretation. It usually winds up simply letting one’s own ideology make one out to be a fool, as the OP so aptly demonstrated.

I agree. Gods know, the North Carolina Democratic party has plenty of stoopid to go around.
I think that’s one of the fundamental differences between the Democratic and Republican Parties today. Republicans are more likely to circle the wagons around one of their own, no matter how stupid.
