I was thinking in terms of how everything coming out of that woman’s mouth is stupid. You know, like Todd Aiken and Virginia Foxx. Low hanging fruit is still fruit. ---

maybe she meant blow jobs or hand jobs. Though with all the extra time, I would think that hand jobs, at least, would increase. ---

I don’t understand the revised statement, but the original statement is slightly better in context. It appears that the girl in question had just made the statement that she overcame a fear of snakes. So I think its possible that the Hewett was just teasing the girl by claiming he had a literal snake right there in the room, not meaning to be sexual at all. But on the other hand it could be that it was just to big an opening for a double entendre that he couldn’t resist. ---

I took it as variant of “pull the other one, it’s got bells on it.” He didn’t think she was bashful. I have heard the expression, “If you’re X, I’ve got a snake under my chair.” The fact that he said it to a young girl and said “desk” instead of chair, moved it from expressing his doubt regarding her bashfulness to “Would you like some candy, little girl?” territory. Definitely a case of bypassing brain while engaging mouth.
