Since this thread is supposed to be a counterpoint to the Stupid Republican thread and needs all the help it can get to catch up, I think any stupid antics by a Democratic lawmaker are on topic. Also alternative woo, (crystals, shamans, healing magnets etc.) seems IMHO to be more frequent among the left than among the right who have more mainstream christian woo to fall back on. ---

This thread is misnamed. For it to be a real parallel thread to the stupid Republican one, it should be named something else. Maybe, the Stupid Democrat idea of the day. If only the OP had thought of that, but he gets so little right that who is really surprised, here? That notwithstanding, I do think tolerating woo is a common stupid liberal idea, so I think **Revtim’s** post is valid for this thread as it is. Liberals think they’re less anti-science than they think conservatives are, but it’s not necessarily true. And Sen. Guillory is a perfect example: liberal, anti-science, stupid. ---

He found a different rationale to vote for it than conservatives did, though. We might say there is a whole array of associated stupid ideas that might turn any idea into a Liberal, Conservative, Republic or Democratic stupid idea. But, for me, it’s the voting for it, or advocating for it, as an elected Democratic representative or as a an office holder within the party that makes for a stupid Democratic idea. YMMV ---
