Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), ranking Republican on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, patriotically calling for the evisceration of V.A. beginning with the firing of its chief, 4-star General Eric Shinseki, was chastised by the VFW, Disabled American Veterans and the Paralyzed Veterans of America: [QUOTE=Veterans of Foreign Wars, official statement] Senator [Burr], this is clearly one of the most dishonorable and grossly inappropriate acts that we’ve witnessed in more than forty years of involvement with the veteran community and breaches the standards of the United States Senate. Your allegations are ugly and mean-spirited in every sense of the words and are profoundly wrong, both logically and morally. Quite frankly Senator, you should be ashamed. [/QUOTE] It’s so sad that pinkos have infiltrated these veteran’s groups and disparaged a great Republican. And do note that General Shinseki doesn’t even look American and was “born in Hawaii” – we know what that means. Especially infuriating are veterans who mention that their brave supporter, Senator Burr, never served in the military. Sure, he could have taken the easy way out and fought in the jungles of Vietnam, but he took a harder road, pursuing politics so that he could free America’s veterans from the socialist yoke. ---
