I understand the temptation for a guy like Obama to speak from the black man’s perspective; but as President of the US, he is supposed to represent the whole country, white, black, and the others. This country is still majority white. Also, he has a duty to wait for the facts to be in, not saying “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.” Nor should he have commented on Henry Louis Gates until facts were known.
