I hate misspellings, and today I saw one of the worst. A new restaurant — The Feed Troft!! What are some of the worst signs you’ve seen? ---

A bowling alley in Torrance, CA, Gable House, offers public bowling. Unfortunately, the sign read “Pubic Bowling” (I photographed it). 😃 And a defunct shopping center, the Old Towne Mall, inviting parents to shop during the Christmas season but not wanting to drag the kids along, put up this sign one year: “Leave Your Ids at Santa’s.” (I photographed that one too.) 😃 ---

A store in Winston-Salem, NC, (city motto: “Shirt and shoes optional, smoking required”) has an lovely awning all the way around the outside which lists the various things they sell: “Gifts … Balloons … Stationary” ---

Outside a dry-cleaning store in Hudson, New York: JACKETS PRESSED $X(I forget how much exactly) NOT INCLUDING SUED LEATHER The store I work at has a little sign out in front. My boss once went out there to put up a SALE notice on there and accidentally wrote SALT. I’m not sure how he failed to see that he was using the wrong letter… ---

The McD’s near me has a sign that says: “CAJIN CHICKEN SANDWICH” They also had the “101 DALMATION” sign when the movie came out. ---

Not wrong so much as creative: **Bayeau Jeaux** –(say: Bayou Joe’s) a restaurant in southern Louisiana I’m not sure I spelled it exactly right, but that’s close enough to get the joke. ---

[slight hijack] The worst sign I have seen would have to be a local one. Not mis-spelled just down right creepy. It is for a motel and right underneath is one for a store selling coffins. So it basically reads as Sleep Easy Motel and Casket store ( I can’t remember the name. 10 points if anybody knows where this name is from.) A sign that just cracks me up every time I see it is the name for a local morticians business: Assman’s Funeral Chapel. I don’t care where I die, I swear my service will be held there. [/slight hijack] ---

In Alexandria, there’s a Waffle House that has a street awning that reads “Wafle House”. I guess they feel that it’s not worth the price to change it, so it’s been there for years. ---

Then they apparently learned the spelling error, and corrected it to “boquet.” Well, _closer_… A garage at Universal Studios boasts it has “Ample Paking.” In the world on non-typos…a sign for the “Shoe Horn Museum” is up around here (a big HUH? from me on that one), and one of my all-time favorites: The Agoura Animal Clinic is right next door to Siamese Cuisine. Mmmmmmm–_yummy!_ ---

This was a misspelling due to a letter that fell off, but they didn’t fix it for around two years. It was a paint store in Portland ME, called Paint Pot. The first P came unglued, and it became a anti drug proponent. “Aint Pot” ---

Sign for years at the City of Columbia (SC) animal shelter: “Spray/Neuter Clinic” One vacant building between home and work was to be occupied by a dance studio. The sign announcing its opening proclaimed “Comming soon.” ---

In Bemidji, MN there is a business called the Cease Funeral Home. This is not a misspelling but the name of the owner. Strangely prophetic?
