# Stupid question about the moon and gravity.

allllllllllllllright…

basically, I think the op was just making a correct observation, while neglecting the fact that gravity will get weaker as you move away from an object, and while standing on the SURFACE of the moon, you are much closer to the center than you are when standing on the SURFACE of the earth.

if the surface of the earth is x distance from the center, and you flew x distance above the center of the moon, you’d get different results.

the earth is fatter.

(which has already been noted several times)
