Didn’t some of the men in the Old Testament have concubines? So, no problem.

> The article points out that Obama had previously asked for a 2.5 billion increase for Amtrak. So no one should wonder why funding was struck down.

Please read the article again. The president asked _for_ $2.5 billion for Amtrak, which was a larger amount than he has asked for in the past. He did not ask for an _increase_ of $2.5 billion. The Rs feel that we can get by with with 44% of that.

"President Barack Obama asked for almost $2.5 billion for Amtrak in his February budget, much more than he’d requested in previous years. "

Yeah, I wrote that wrong saying it was an increase of 2.5 billion. My point was he asked for more money back in February making the full total of 2.5 billion. So since Obama asked for this and is interested in “a” increase, they gotta block it. If he wanted a $2.50 increase, same thing. Hell, if he wanted to cut it by 2.5 billion, they would’ve said no to that too. 😉

Well, and I guess their thinking is that Amtrak is a business, and when businesses make mistakes, they lose money, so we should take money away from them.

Looks like he also made a run at getting the nomination the same way. I remember. Back then, I was somewhat aware of GeeDubya, as a recovering Texan, I was aware that he was Da Guv, that he had beaten Ann Richards and affirmed my belief that Texas was a wonderful place to be from. He also revived one of my favorite cultural phenoms, the Aggie joke. (This was before Rick Perry, who actually _is_ an Aggie joke…)

Remember? The Pubbies were flailing around, looking for a way not to run Bob Dole again. And then suddenly, GeeDubya! Suddenly, avalanches of money were rolling onto him, he was an unknown, he was a contender, he was the front runner, he was the nominee fer sure fer sure…all in a matter of days! That was back when the Trodglodyte Right was still totally reliable, the Money Republicans packaged him, advertised him and shipped him out on a same-day basis, badda-boom, badda bing, nominee!

Looks like Jeb! tried the same tactic, a “carbon copy”, as the old folks say. So far, the knuckle walkers aren’t that impressed, the stampede turned out to be a bunch of bovines wandering about aimlessly. Wait, what? Pick doofus, pull money lever, rumble rumble, nominee!

Instructions unclear, penis caught in overhead fan. Laugh? I thought I’d surely die!

To be fair, however the rabbis interpret it nowadays, I am fairly certain that in OT times, the commandment against adultery imposed no duty of sexual fidelity whatsoever on a husband, only on a wife. To a man, married or unmarried, it meant only one thing: “Thou shalt not lie down with another man’s wife.” But it was perfectly all right for a married man to go to whores, or to have concubines.

Note:
St. Augustine Florida, the oldest USA city, was founded in 1565, so that’s closer at 450 years.

Yeah, but it only counts once the white folk git there. Give ‘em a few more years and some of them Spics’ll count (not Mexicans obviously). Cubans made it to damn near white in less than 40 years! Hell, we got one runnin’ for President now! Don’t tell me the 'Merican Dream is dead.

Injuns? Nah. Let 'em run casinos and drink firewater. All they’re good for anyways.
