It’s amazing how they all seem to be desperate to not acknowledge the reality of what happened. This behavior is likely to hurt them politically with everyone other than their most rabid base. ---

I certainly hope he never comes close to the presidency (or any other position of authority again). On the other hand, wasting his donors’ money on a doomed campaign, and making the other clowns waste money fighting him, might be a good thing. ---

The south rebelled against the US and fortunately lost. The fact that the US government allows it to still be flown says a lot about it. The fact that so many “patriotic” Americans treat it as anything other than a symbol of traitors to the country says more about them. ---

Stupid Republiopathic diction bothers me, even when it comes not from a top intellectual like Glenn Beck or Bill Perry, but just from a random SDMB nincompoop. It’s the Republican predicament, you have to appeal to the base during the primaries or you will be hurt politically. Most probably feel that when they get the nomination it’s a brand new ball game, but that just doesn’t work in this day and age. ---
