It seems to me to be a rather stupid idea for men with guns to start following soldiers around - It takes less than that for people to start feeling threatened or in fear for their lives… ---

I can see this as the plot to a screwball comedy - dumb locals start following covert infiltration team, get mistaken as part of the same exercise, accidentally get deployed behind enemy lines. ---

These kinds of unintentional re-uses of similar logos are actually pretty common. When somebody finds a visually striking symbol, they don’t often go checking to see if anyone else has used it.
