Well, even if Scott partakes only on days containing the letters “d”, “a”, and “y”, that’s gotta add up.

I see \*\*RNATB \*\*lives up there near Mouseville, where you could pull a trawl down any random street and catch hundreds of the little creatures. I suspect that gives him a somewhat distorted view of their absolute numbers. Here on the Elite Snobby Coast, the ratio of geriatric to infantile approaches a hundred to one.

_I mean by calendar age, of course. Measured by political leanings toward a group named for a flavored beverage created by soaking leaves in hot water, the infantile perspective vastly overwhelms the adult. Hence, no doubt, the election of Rick Scott._

Nitpick : he said Republicans oughta stay in the back of the car (that in his metaphor the Dems are driving). And if they don’t he’s presumably going to turn this country around, or something. I don’t know, it was a shit metaphor.

But my point is, the bus image (and all the baggage that comes with it) was conjured out of thin air by people who want to call him a racist in the first place.

It was the same people who tried to twist “lipstick on a pig” into some kind of insult against Sarah Palin.

Does this count as a stupid Republican idea, a stupid ex-President idea, a stupid Bush idea, or much ado about nothing?

Well, given that the article says

> “Bush, on his book tour, makes much of the fact that he largely wrote the book himself,”

he’ll either have to admit he was/is lying about writing the book himself (so he can blame his ghostwriter for plagiarism" or admit that he wrote it himself and therefore plagiarized.

Either way…stupid Republican idea/behavior, or just stupid Bush behavior?

As in “as much as is necessary to both brag about having written it, and blame somebody else if something’s wrong with it.”

[Meet Dr. Andy Harris.](http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1110/45181.html)

Dr. Harris is a Republican who ran for Congress in Maryland largely on an anti-Obamacare platform. Dr. Harris won the election, and will be sworn in on January 3rd. Dr. Harris found out on Monday that his insurance won’t kick in until Feb 1. Dr. Harris is shocked and indignant about this. “This is the only employer I’ve ever worked for where you don’t get coverage the first day you are employed,” says Dr. Harris.

Dr. Harris’s PR people are trying to spin this by saying he was simply “pointing out the inefficiencies of government-run health care,” conveniently muddying its difference from government-_sponsored_ health care, which is what he will really have, and ignoring the fact that if Dr. Harris actually had government-\*run \*health care, there would be no gap as he changed jobs.

Shit, that’s not a “Stupid Republican Idea”, that’s pure hypocrisy, and it belongs in the “Standard Republican SOP” thread.

I’ve never seen any employer who provided health insurance (or any other benefit) until after your probationary 90 day period was up, unless it was negotiated and agreed upon beforehand. How nice that must have been for him to have health insurance from Day 1! But how sad for him that he must experience what the little people have to go through to change jobs. But what an eye-opener that could be!

My current employer does, but they also cover the entire cost for all salaried employees, which is pretty unusual.

Just another clueless asshole. You think a “doctor” would know things. Maybe he’s up there with Optometrist of the Year (as certified by Mrs. Paul) when it comes to actual “facts”.

The health care gravy train for all members of the Senate and House should be stopped. Why should their access and level of care and insurance be any better, and their premiums lower, than any other American’s?

Hence the “eye-opener” comment. Who knows? It could work. We could create something that the uninsured could buy through the government and call it, oh, I don’t know - the “public option”?
