My understanding is that many public venues pay licensing fees to organizations such as ASCAP, which allows them to play any songs that ASCAP (or similar organization) has control of. ASCAP somehow knows how much each song is played and pays out to the artist. ---

So, I figured it wasn’t true, first I heard of it. Yeah, I knew they were stupid enough to mount a Congressional investigation of Planned Parenthood. Didn’t know they actually titled those things. Read this: **Planned Parenthood Exposed: Examining the Horrific Abortion Practices at the Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider**. Oh, OK. So, we’re gonna get a sober unbiased examination of the facts, without any prejudicial insinuations, or anything. Groovy. I mean, for a second there, I thought to myself, self, this is not for real, this is something an intern over at _Daily Kos_ cooked up, there will be a retraction, maybe an hour or so. Oops, looks like _Crooks and Liars_ bought it too! Boy, will their faces be red! So, I didn’t rush here to tell you about it because I thought maybe I’d look really stupid, falling for a dumb trick like that. But its true. The Republican shit-for-brains caucus have a title for their investigation. **Planned Parenthood Exposed: Examining the Horrific Abortion Practices at the Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider**. Hey, you know, Louis Goober just filed a motion for a Congressional warrant from Ellen DeGeneres’ execution. No, not really. Or not yet. ---
