I’m glad we’re basically in agreement and I guess I should just leave well enough alone. But nowhere did I say that it was a mistake to give teenagers the freedom to have kids out if wedlock.
I said its a mistake for teenagers to have kids out if wedlock. Because it is. Profoundly so. Maybe not for all kids. But for many it will be, economically speaking, the biggest mistake of their lives. So as a society, we should acknowledge that and work to change that.

Carson still with shovel in hand.
Ben Carson said Thursday that Adolf Hitler’s mass murder of Jews “would have been greatly diminished” if German citizens had not been disarmed by the Nazi regime.

The murders of the homosexuals, Roma, mentally ill, would have continued though. Perhaps Ben could provide us with the numbers of Jews saved (diminished) that he divined from visions, dreams, hallucinations. If only teh Romans had guns, the Huns, Vandals, and Visigoths would have never sacked them. Until every straight, non-Muslim American is armed; we’re just asking for it. This turd just doesn’t get it.

This, not so much. Does he think that the Jews in Germany were particularly heavily armed prior to Hitler coming to power?

I think he means that the good people of Germany would have stopped Hitler, instead of, ya know, being all in favor of what he was doing to the Jews.

> **This Document Reveals Why The House Of Representatives Is In Complete Chaos**
> What happened? How did we get to this point? One document, produced by the House Freedom Caucus, holds all the answers. Framed as a “questionnaire” the document effectively makes it impossible for any candidate to both: 1) Get elected speaker, and 2) Not send the entire country (and maybe the world) over a cliff.
> …
> Yesterday, Politico published the House Freedom Caucus “[questionnaire](http://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000150-49be-d501-ab5d-6dbf7cd70000)” which it described as pushing for “[House rule changes](http://www.politico.com/blogs/the-gavel/2015/10/house-freedom-caucus-rules-change-214591).” The document does do that. But it also does a lot more. It seeks substantive commitments from the next speaker that would effectively send the entire country into a tailspin.
>
> For example, the document seeks a commitment from the next speaker to tie any increase in the debt ceiling to cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
> …
> The House Freedom Caucus wants the next speaker to commit to oppose any “omnibus” bill that would keep the government running. Rather, funding for each aspect of government could only be approved by separate bills. This would allow the Republicans to attempt to finance certain favored aspects of government (the military), while shuttering ones they view as largely unnecessary (education, health).

To be appointed, a new speaker requires the support of 218 Republicans. There are 248 Republican House members. This means that a member can’t become speaker without the support of the Freedom Caucus.

Don’t worry Newt Gingrich can pull the party back together, [he’s willing to take the job](http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/256433-gingrich-open-to-return-to-speakership) None of that affair baggage to get in the way!

Or a bipartisan coalition that says “fuck you” to the crazies. (I agree, it’s not going to happen)

Pretty much no. If they can’t come up with a majority on one of the most basic house votes the chances they can pass a vote on anything is unlikely.
